This guide is intended to provide practical advice to listed companies on how to implement the new Combined Code on Corporate Governance and covers issues such as selecting and developing the board, succession-planning, working effectively as a team, issues that should be addressed by the board to enable the company to reach its full potential (including input to strategy, effective risk management, communicating with shareholders and the development of an integrated approach to corporate social responsibility) and the work of board committees. It is intended that companies quoted on AIM should also find the guide useful even though the Combined Code does not formally apply to them.
