Summary

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka issued Environmental Norms of Sri Lanka to assist companies in complying with the various environmental standards that exist in Sri Lanka. The guidance lists the environmental standards that exist for various emissions and effluents that are applicable to companies working in various sectors of the Sri Lankan economy. In addition, the Environmental Norms of Sri Lanka sets out those operations or developments that are subject to environmental impact assessments. Compiling all this information in one place allows companies, especially that are based outside of Sri Lanka, to easily understand the how, what and where of environmental reporting.
